Can you imagine being able to hear your own eyeball moving! This condition called Superior Canal Dehiscence Syndrome. This medical condition is extremely rare, but results from an opening in the bone that covers the superior semicircular canal of the inner ear.
This condition could be caused by trauma or having pressure on the temporal lobe of the brain. The symptoms one may experience are quite debilitating. One may experience a constant imbalance, loud noises that seem to cause things to move, hearing their own voice very loudly, even hearing your eyeball move.
Some patients just learn to live with this syndrome and avoiding any stimuli that may make the symptoms worse. There’s also a surgical correction, but of course, it comes with the risks of hearing loss.
