There are many reasons why people become constipated. The main reasons fall under bad eating habits and lack of exercise.  For instance, eating certain kinds of foods such as large amounts of cheese or meat can block your bowels.

Lack of water or other fluids is another big contributor to constipation. Certain medications can result in a change in your bowel movements. Even something as simple as not chewing your food enough can cause you to get “stopped up.”

Have no fear! There are many home remedies to help you ease constipation safely and effectively:

  1. Lemon and honey:  Mix two tablespoons of lemon juice and one teaspoon of honey into a glass of warm water.  Drink a glass in the morning and one at night to regulate your bowels.
