Watch Your Sodium!

With my job, I find that my blood pressure often gets out of control (stress, anyone?). But, I've found that if I am taking in more salt (or sodium) than usual, it's even worse. If your pressure tends to rise when in stressful situations, make sure to reduce your sodium intake to less than 2,300 mg a day. And stay away from processed foods which are loaded with sodium. When I monitor my intake, I find that I instantly feel better.
Safe Salt--You CAN have salt

When the doctor says to limit your salt, what he really means is limit the ratio of sodium to potassium salts. I found Dr. Moore's Safe Salt (potassium 378 mg and sodium 124 mg) recommended by my doctor to have the right ratio so I can safely use all the salt I want on home cooked unsalted foods. I replaced this salt in all my salt shakers and no one has noticed the difference. Now I can have my own home cooked salted foods and just have to watch my consumption of high sodium salted processed foods.
