There are many different kinds of brain disorders, including Parkinson's disease - which is a progressive disease characterized by rigid muscles, tremors, and difficulty walking. It's one of the most common diseases of movement in people over age 55, and there are no known substantial methods of prevention besides avoiding situations that cause traumatic injury.

Muhammad Ali has Parkinson's Disease, while Ronald Reagan had Alzheimer's disease - which is associate with memory loss. Alzheimer's isn't to blame for all memory loss, however, some can be caused by vascular problems or a loss of neuron function.

It is interesting that Parkinson's could be due to constant constipation over a life timen... Most people with poor digestive system as well as chronic diseases will suffer from constipation, reflux etc... it is also known that 99% of all disease is caused by colon malfunction (constipation) All Tums, and other types of products do not fix the problem. Digests you food correctly ... nSo the answer would be to seek how to keep your colon clean. n As with most all chronic diseases, things like poor circulation, pollution, metals, toxins, lack of vitamins, minerals, being acidic, and diet play a part, not only with Alzheimer's, but all degenerative diseases. Again there are many answers to these problems, drugs will not restore the body. Cells need food NOT drugs to restore health. Study, look for answers. As with anything,... remember not all vitamins, minerals etc are not equal... you pay for what you get.nThere is HOPE

I read in the magazine "The Week" that surfing the Internet is great exercise for the aging brain, says a new study. Physicians and scientists have long advocated “brain exercises” such as puzzles and word games to stave off age-related loss of cognitive function. As it turns out, daily Internet searches are a terrific workout for the mind. They demand attention from verbal, memory, and problem-solving areas of the brain. Googling for health information or a good local restaurant is an excellent way for seniors, especially, to clear the cobwebs from unused corners of the mind, says professor Gary Small of the University of California. “A simple, everyday task like searching the Web appears to enhance brain circuitry in older adults,” he says, “demonstrating that our brains can continue to learn as we grow older.”nn
