A recent study found that people with a variation in a gene called GLUT2 eat more sugar on average than those without that gene variation. Scientists believe the gene may be related to glucose sensing in your brain, which is responsible for signaling you to stop eating when your blood sugar rises. What can be done if you have the gene? Scientists are looking at ways to develop personalized diet advice based on your genetic make-up (although that may be down the road a bit).
