Diarrhea dilemma

I've had ongoing bouts of diarrhea for many years with no real help from the allopathic community. I've seen a 'functional' doctor in the last year and she did suggest that I may be lactose intolerant which has proved to be the case and my problems immediately ceased when I avoid all dairy. However as my dear husband died two years ago I've been having other intolerances crop up, seemingly I can no longer substitute soy. My son treated me to a Chinese meal just this Sunday with disastrous results so I have to assume that the soy sauce was the culprit. I don't much like Rice milk but there really isn't any alternative. I'm afraid the almond milk would add to my problems. Help, anyone have any ideas as my normal breakfast of high fiber cereal is out of the picture at the moment?nnKepri

I've heard the best solution is chicken soup with rice. Apparently it's the combination of the rice and broth that seems to protect the lining cells of the intestines. I've also been told calcium tablets work... I'll add these to the natural cures section ;-)

I'm back to announce that my ongoing intestinal problem has apparently been 'cured' by by a 'folk remedy' suggested by my neighbor who is a legal immigrant from Honduras. He had me take the juice of a rather sour lemon that he is familiar with in Central America that is smaller(about 1 1/2 " in diameter and green skinned) plus a little salt. I took this concoction for several days and amazingly it has apparently done the trick, I'm still avoiding any kind of milk even the soy milk and being very careful to eat only bland food but my appetite has vastly improved and I would recommend the procedure to anyone that has a similar problem.nKepri
