Katya Chobotova and  Fadzilah Adibah Abdul Majid are working in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) researching traditional medicinal plants and formulations for health and beauty.
Dr Katya Chobotova graduated from Moscow State University (former USSR) and received D.Phil degree in University of Oxford. During her work as research scientist in Oxford she developed an interest in the concept of wellness and natural approaches for chronic diseases including control and prevention. Dr Katya is a member of Wolfson College, University of Oxford and a Contract Professor in University Technology Malaysia (UTM). Her current research is focused on bio-validation of traditional Malaysian natural products for cancer prevention.

Dr Fadzilah Adibah Abdul Majid has a unique blend of knowledge and training in biotechnology, biochemical engineering and mammalian cell culture technology for biopharmaceutical industry from The University of Leeds and The University of Birmingham, UK. She is currently an Associate Professor of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Head of Department and Research Fellow of Nutraceuticals Business Unit, CEPP, UTM. She loves plants and always passionate about the natural ways of healing. When she found that her favourite fruit, pineapple is loaded with health benefits, especially the enzyme bromelain, she set her mission to focus on bromelain research. Currently her research activities are focus on profiling of bromelain activity in various commercial species of pineapple in Malaysia, bromelain shelf life in whole fruits and refrigerated cut fruits. She also conducts studies on the non destructive processing and packaging of high bromelain pineapple juice, bromelain extraction from pineapple waste and development of bromelain health supplement.
