I am a baby boomer. I think many of our parents who served in WWII were exposed to the same type of chemical that the 'gulf war syndrome' vets were. I live in Valdez, Alaska and I have an elementary school teaching BA.

I looked into the harm of a particular glycol ether: 2-butoxyethanol when someone in my family was harmed by it during the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill cleanup. I think this chemical family is the primary cause of harm for our Vets especially during war time; and the cause of many autoimmune issues. People are dying all too young from a multiple of autoimmune issues, and cancers, too. We should be concerned about this epidemic & start looking here for the cause of them. Also for the cause of rapid acceleration of global warming. These chemicals break down into CO and CO2. The glycol ethers are not getting blamed for much of anything that they do.
