I would classify myself as an urban naturalist. Though it may seem a contradiction in terms, it is an adaption to the requirements of modern life.
In today's world of processing and prepackaging all of the necessities of life, I believe in trying to return to a more natural lifestyle.  With a few simple steps we can all live a healthier, less wasteful life even living in an Urban Evironment (Los Angeles in my case). A few steps I have taken to improve my quality of life:

  • Buying natural whole foods, raised locally when ever possible
  • Cooking meals from natural ingredients instead of processed, packed ones
  • Using natural ingredients and diet to promote good health
  • Recycling as much as possible to reuse resources and cut down on waste
  • Composting kitchen and yard scraps to provide natural fertilizer for the yard
  • Planting a vegetable garden to cut down on the amount of food I need to buy

It's all part of my ongoing effort to maintain a more natural, sustainable, healthy lifestyle.
