Anyone who has ever suffered through a sinus infection knows just how painful and miserable they can be. Symptoms like face pain and post nasal drip (YUCK!) make it hard to sleep, let alone work or perform daily duties. Not only that, but you may have noticed how long these nasty infections linger and how pesky they can be to get rid of . . . even after a round of antibiotics.

When it comes to cold remedies, I have learned to favor the more natural treatments as opposed to synthetic ones. This is mostly because once I have read an account with how our immune system works. According to what I have read, our immune system could eventually get used to the medicines we use when we are treating the flu. That is why from a small dosage, we find ourselves requiring more and more until such time that we realized that the cold remedies we buy straight from drug store shelves are no longer effective. This fact I considered a major concern for myself. After all, if medicines no longer work, such scenario poses various threats to my personal health.

If you’ve taken prescription medications for colds and allergies, you could have inadvertently put your health on the line. The FDA has announced plans to pull 500 ineffective prescription drugs off the market. These drugs are cold and allergy medications that have untested combinations of cough suppressing ingredients and decongestants – a possibly dangerous mix.
