Vuka-Vuka: The #1 Natural Sexual Health Formula for Men and Women
Published: April 06, 2009
In most of the tribes, each man has between 3 to 6 wives and sometimes much more, like a 81 one years old Mr. Akuku . This man has married more than 100 times, and his most conservative estimate is that he has 160 children! What does this supermen take to please so many women?
Long time ago, Lobengula the famous African King asked his sorcerer to make him a potion to make him strong enough to show his power to his several wives and warriors. The sorcerer came back with the answer :"Vuka-Vuka" .
Vuka-Vuka means literally "Wake Up, Wake Up!".
Digging more, I noticed that Early in 1998 CNN visited Zimbabwe to conduct a story on "VUKA VUKA "a centuries old traditional African remedy used to treat impotence and increase virility in men."
Viagra? No, vuka vuka!
CNN REPORTThe wonders of Viagra delight couples around the globe, but ask men in Zimbabwe what they think of the impotency-fighting drug, and they tout an alternative remedy: vuka vuka. Every morning, men line up outside the Bulawayo home of a local healer George Moyo to get their daily dose of vuka vuka, a natural cure African healers have been dispensing for years. Does it work? Moyo says his 23 children are proof enough for him.
BBC NEWS REPORT
By BBC Africa Correspondent Jane Standley in Harare Traditional healers in Harare's Mbare market have a remedy for just about everything - even a failing love life.
Natural aphrodisiacs are big business here. Peter Sibanda is famous for his vuka-vuka remedy. "Vuka" means "wake up" - and Mr. Sibanda says the remedy enhances male sexual performance and marital harmony.
Lyson Soke has been a vuka-vuka devotee for 20 years. He says it's delivered a happy marriage - and five children.
"My wife, she needs vuka-vuka because I want sex three to four times a night, every day," Mr Soke says.
But moderation seems to be the message from Zimbawean women who are selling more conventional wares in another section of the market. "I like it for some of the night - but not all of the night," one market trader says.
REPORT IN HERBAL NEWSIf you are a man who has not found glory with the American male anti-impotency drug, Viagra, then you should try the indigenous Zimbabwean version, Vuka-vuka. The traditional Zimbabwean herb is reputed to cure impotence among men. Vuka-vuka, a Ndebele term for "wake-up, wake up" is currently the most popular and top-selling drug in Bulawayo.
Users of the herb say there is no American or European drug that can beat it. Vuka-vuka is available at a very cheap price at the local open markets and in surgeries run by traditional doctors (izinyanga). Most men who used the herb said Americans should forget about Viagra and come to Zimbabwe where traditional healers will prescribe them vuka-vuka.
"Vuka-vuka performs wonders for men in bed. My clients always come back to me saying their batteries are now charging," said Vuka-vuka specialist, George Moyo. Moyo's surgery in Tshabalala is always full of clients who have become impotent. According to Moyo, white people who have not heard about vuka-vuka are not serious about improving their sexual problems.
"If you drink Vuka-vuka, it will keep you awake all night. Ours is stronger than Viagra," said Moyo, who is also the chairman of the Matabeleland Cultural Society, Vukani Mahlabezulu.
American tourists have been flocking to Mr Moyo's house to buy Vuka-vuka. The Americans say they saw a Zimbabwean program about Vuka-vuka on CNN two months ago. The program was filmed at Mr Moyo's surgery in Tshabalala. The Vuka-vuka program was screened more than four times by CNN and became a hit with Americans who started inquiring about Mr Moyo and the Zimbabwean Vuka-Vuka aphrodisiac. Vuka-vuka has been in existence for many decades but the herb only became popular after the much-publicized Viagra.
At Makhokhoba market in Bulawayo, herbalists who sell Vuka-vuka have put up advertisements aimed at attracting American tourists who visit the township regularly. A bottled concoction of Vuka-vuka costs $10.00, compared with the single-pill price of $9 for Viagra. Moyo says he treats both men and women when they have sexual problems at home.
Those who use Vuka-vuka say the drug has no known side effects and is only needed to be taken once for it to work for the whole month. There are times however when women complain about the excessive sexual appetites displayed by husbands who drink Vuka-vuka every week.
THE OBSERVER REPORTSpecial report on Zimbabwe by Andrew MeldrumThere is a special charge in the air in Harare's teeming Musika market on Friday afternoons. The music blaring from shops seems more throbbing and the shouts of hawkers more enticing. A young man dances a lively jig as some young women saunter by in platform shoes. Everyone is looking forward to the weekend. And in Harare, a lot of people are looking forward to sex.
Making my way through the tumultuous open-air market I see virtually everything for sale. Vegetables and fruits of all shapes and colours, car parts, beds, chairs and second-hand clothes from Europe are all on display. There are many more fancy and high-toned places in Harare, but the Musika market in Mbare township is one of the liveliest centres of Zimbabwe's capital city.
I head towards the back of the bustling stalls and find a man leaning on a counter, as a bartender would. But he is selling something more potent than alcohol. 'Hello, come to me, let's talk!' He ushers me into the shadowy depths of his room. His leopard skin hat with shells dangling from it identifies him as a traditional healer or herbalist, sometimes crudely known as a 'witch doctor'.
Right away he offers me 'vuka vuka' which means 'wake up, wake up' in English, but in Harare it is widely known as 'more sex, more sex'. Vuka vuka is the African herbal equivalent of Viagra and is reputed to give erections that last for six hours.
Dr Tichaona Wimbiru bills himself as an 'African psychologist, interpreter of dreams, expert on sexual matters'. He offers 'muti' (medicine) for every conceivable complaint. He has potions to make men and women more amorous and another to lock adulterers together. A powder will make an adulterer itch all over. 'Mubobobo' is taken to make a man's penis bigger.
He has mixtures of salts and herbs which women use to dry out and tighten their vaginas. Dry sex is what Zimbabwean men crave and more than 85 per cent of women have used the salts at least once, according to a recent survey.
Vuka-vuka may have been Zimbabwe's best kept secret for generations - but now the word is out. Companies in North America and Europe have woken up to it and are selling it on the Internet - saying they got it from the traditional healers' market here. And the slogan they're using to advertise it: "Africa's natural Viagra."
And the secret ingredient is Myalabris beetles. A fine collection of jars of the red and yellow striped insects is the pride and joy of clinical pharmacology professor, Norman Nyazema. He discovered that the beetle's defence system is the toxic substance cantharidin - which blisters the skin and also fills the sexual organs with blood for hours.
"That chemical substance is the one responsible for the tingling in your hipbone - if you want to call it that," Prof Nyazema says.
So physiologically, it works - but is there a downside? Prof Nyazema warns that if you take too much vuka-vuka, the result can be priapism or permanent erection - a condition which requires surgery - as well as kidney faillure.
"Once you have a problem with your kidneys - it's a Pandora's Box really," Prof Nyamenza says.
Some Zimbawean women said "It is not helpful at all - because what we are encouraging is one partner, one faithful partner, and by using vuka-vuka it means they cannot stick to one partner because they cannot get the satisfaction they need."
At an open-air bar outside Harare, vuka-vuka is so much in demand that you can buy it over the counter, with a beer. Traditional healers say they only sell it to monogamous male clients - with strict instructions not to take too much, or with too many partners. But are any vuka-vuka fans listening? The pleasure it promises is after all tinged with more than a little danger.
Can all these African Men Be Wrong? Of 2500 local African men (users) polled, an astounding 2472 reported most favorable results, in fact some reported better than most favorable results ! Tests were carried out on local men of European descent and in almost every case they had the same results .
