Using Cinammon to cure your Diabetes

I rant and rave about how most Medical Doctors don't want to know anything about alternative health concepts, but this one I owe to a Doctor Friedman who was on PBS a couple years ago and happened to mention that his wife had Type II Diabetes and she "Felt better after taking Cinammon."  That's all he said.  So, I went to my favorite provider of health products and ordered a bottle of cinammon extract.  I should mention that I had been taking Gymnema Sylvestre to counter-act the ravages of sugar in my blood for a while, but when I started taking the Cinnamon, I noticed that I didn't need the Gymnema Sylvestre any longer, so they appear to perform the same function in helping to control the suger in the blood.

Don't ask me exactly what the cinnammon is doing.  I couldn't tell you and I'm sure even Dr. Friedman couldn't tell you because he would have done so after learning about how it helped his wife.  My theory is that there's a compound in the cinnammon, a very flavorful herb that I happen to enjoy almost as much as chocoloate, that allows the cells to ingest the suger in the blood and burn it.  But, that's just a wild guess.

I also have to admit that I don't get the same results when I eat too much, so a very controlled and careful diet with very few carbs and lots of exercise is still the norm for me, and the skeptics out there could suggest that I have controlled my Diabetes by this method alone and that this cinnammon is really just psychological, but I think not.  I'm very much in tune with my body and I know when my blood sugar is high without testing.

However, overrall, I am convinced from careful daily monitoring of how I feel and how my diet is working to feel confident in telling you that without Cinnammon, I would be far worse off than I am.  I am so confident in the benefits of cinnammon that I put it in almost everything I eat.  I sprinkle it on top of plain yogurt when I crave a dessert.  I sprinkle it liberally in my coffee and tea.  I sprinkle it on my slicked fruits.  I put it on top of almost everything and it tastes great, but then I'm a lover of cinnammon.  If you're not, then, you can ingest it in pill form only and have the same results if your metabolism is similar to mine.

Controlling my diet is the primary focus for me, don't get me wrong.  And, exercise is too.  Whenever I have all of these things in balance, I feel as though I have no disease at all and my Doctor has noted that I am cured in my file.  So, that says something.
