Acne Be Gone!

If you have a less than perfect complexion, you’re certainly not alone. Acne affects millions of children and adults around the world.

But if you’re one of those millions, don’t give up on clear skin yet! There are many treatment options available, several of them all-natural with no painful or unexpected side effects.

Let’s take a look at some possible treatments that might help you . . .

Green Teas

The interest level of Green Tea and its many health benefits has been on the rise in the past few years. One of the benefits of Green Tea is an improved skin appearance. Green Tea works within the body as an anti-inflammatory agent, helping to reduce the redness or puffiness of acne on the face, neck and body. Green Tea can be taken orally in a variety of herbal supplements or drank as a hot tea.

Baking Soda

While you may think of baking soda as only a household cleaner or a substance to help with the odors in your fridge, it has a great health benefit for your skin. When a small amount of water is added to a teaspoon of baking soda, it can act as a great exfoliate for your face and neck. Apply it over your face, rinse with cool water and then pat dry with a clean towel.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea Tree oil has a variety of uses, but one of the most popular uses is as an antibiotic for the skin. This natural oil found as an extract from the Melaleuca tree helps to reduce the inflammation and infection caused by acne on the skin and body. You may want to test a patch of skin before applying it to your face to determine if you have any allergies to the oil.

Dietary and Lifestyle Changes
In addition to natural remedies, you can also reduce the effects and outbreaks of acne through modifications in your daily diet and lifestyle. Avoid foods that are high in grease, drink lots of water and eat a high quantity of foods that are high in antioxidants. Also consider adding a vitamin supplement to your daily routine that is high in Vitamin C, A, B, E and zinc as all of these nutrients have been proven to assist in the reduction of acne.

While acne is not usually physically painful, it can take an emotional toll on your mind and spirit. But with the above treatment options, you can be on your way to clearer skin – and more confidence – in no time!
