The Wii Fit Exercise Game and its Surprising Health Benefits

Are you wondering what all the fuss and excitement is when it comes to the Wii Fit Exercise Game? Maybe you’ve seen advertisements for it on TV, or heard your kids or grandkids talk about it. If you’re curious about all the buzz, you’re certainly not alone. Let’s take a look at some of the surprising health benefits you can gain from playing the Wii.

Wii has been making a huge splash since it hit the market. It seems the biggest thing people are wondering is how a video game can actually get you to exercise. But this one can!

Getting Fit with Wii
The Wii fit exercise game comes with several different exercise options to choose from depending on what you are in the mood for.  The great thing about this game is the fact that it will actually get you up off the couch or out of the video gaming chair. With this video game you will not be sitting and staring mindlessly at the screen while the only part of your body that gets a workout is your fingers. I know it sounds strange, but with this video game you actually have to get up and move around!

Wii is not the first one to come out with an exercise game, but they are the first to take it to the next level. With the Wii fit exercise game you will also receive a fitness board which will be used during the game. The Wii fitness board is used to measure the weight of the player and also helps with several of the exercises that the game instructs you to do.

Health Benefits
There are several health benefits to exercising, such as losing weight, strengthening your muscles, improving your mood and generally just getting healthy. With the Wii you will gain all these things from simply playing a video game. Wii is especially helpful for those who would rather play a video game than work out. It’s the best of both worlds!

There are also several rehabilitation centers around the country that are using the Wii fit exercise game along with several other Wii games to help their patients. This is a fun way for the patients, kids especially, to be able to work on their balance and movement skills while still having the fun of a video game. If hospitals are using the Wii fit game then it would seem that there has to be something good going on with the Wii.

Wii is a Winner
If you’re looking to get your kids (or grandkids) off the couch, this is certainly an option. And if they are trying to talk you into getting them a new game or gaming system, it’s the perfect time to introduce the Wii for all its health and fitness benefits. But remember – it’s not just for the kids! You can take advantage of those benefits as well.

The Wii games are great. My daughter and I play them and end up laughing and sweating and having so much fun. I watched the related video here on AHJ "Video games aren't just for couch potatoes" and it was good, recommend it.
