Spice up your love life with these natural foods and supplements that will “get you in the mood”. Add a little to your plate, while adding the spice back into your love life.
Did you know that there are many different foods, drinks, drugs, nutrients, herbs and aromas that can actually increase your sexual desire and put you in the mood? So, if you are having problems getting in the mood, consider what you are eating and what you can include in your diet.
There have been are many myths regarding the different foods out three. According to a Fox News story, the following is a list that takes out the myth out of these foods. They have been proven to deliver on their promise of being a food that helps increase sex drive!
• Honey: It gives energy very quickly. It also fuels the sperm cells.
• Herbs: They help people relax, as well as ease anxiety. Depending on the herb, there are some that have physical effects that can increase blood flow to the genitals. Lemon balm can relax the nervous system, which will soothe you while your mood is elevated.
• Garlic: It increases blood flow to sexual organs, as well, because it contains allicin.
• Chocolate: This contains two sex-enhancing compounds, which are: anandamide and phenylethylamine (PEA). PEA is a natural form of amphetamine, which is an antidepressant.
• Spices: There are many spices to choose from. Cayenne pepper can increase your heart rate and body temperature, which can sexually arouse you. Also, some spices can actually mirror sexual arousal, such as body flush perspiration and plumper lips. You can even purchase spices in capsule form, tincture or concentrated drops and take a half hour before sexual intercourse to boost circulation.
• Asian Ginseng: This has been commonly used to treat sexual dysfunction in males. It has a direct effect on the central nervous system and genital tissues. It has been proven that this Chinese herb can cause an erection by increasing blood flow to the penis. Neurotransmitters and hormones involved with sexual behavior are enhanced, as well. However, ginseng can cause diarrhea and hypertension.
• Alcohol: Many people have turned to alcohol to help put them in the mood. However, it is important to know when to stop. In fact, drinking more than two glasses could be counter productive. Wine, such as yeasty champagnes, dry Rieslings and chardonnays has been known to replicate female pheromones. Cabernet sauvignons, earthy pinots and Bordeaux have been known to replicate male pheromones.
• Vitamins: Some nutrients can boost hormone levels and neurotransmitters to create sexual arousal and increase blood flow to sex organs. This will affect your emotions and libido. Vitamin E has been actually known as the “sex vitamin” because it is a high energy source, which is good for sexual endurance. Also, Vitamin E is important for sperm production and the production of sex hormones and gonadotopin (the pituitary hormone that stimulates sex glands). Vitamin E is found in nuts, eggs and whole grains.
• Essential Fatty Acids: Seeds, nuts, salmon and peanut butter contain essential fatty acids. They can help with the normal functioning of sex organs and glands. Also, they help to produce sex hormones and adrenal hormones that increase blood flow to genitals.
So, the next time you are experiencing a low sex drive and are having trouble “getting into the mood”, consider eating some eggs or adding some spices to your dinner before you settle down with your sweetie at night!
