Pfizer: Free Drugs for America

Pfizer Incorporated, the drug manufacterer based in New Jersey has revealed a new program that provides free drugs to people who have lost their jobs and health insuarance - the program is effective up to 1 year.

Pfizer is providing upwards of 70 perscription drugs that range from Chantix to Viagra at no cost to unemployed, uninsured American citizens.

Anyone who has lost their job after January 1st is eligible for the Pfizer perscription giveaway.

Pfizer's offering couldnt ahve come at a better time for the United States workforce, as job losses continue to occur caused by the latest recession.

The program was requested by a committee of employees who were concerned at the growing number of uninsured patients who could barely afford to buy the medicine that they so greatly relied on.

The qualifications for the Pfizer offering are:

1. Loss of employment since January 1, 2009
2. Prescribed and taking a Pfizer medicine for at least 3 months prior to becoming unemployed and enrolling in the program
3. Lack of prescription drug coverage
4. Can attest to financial hardship
