Is there a Natural Cure for Leucorrhoea?

Leucorrhoea is something many women have to deal with.  Learn what it is and how you can treat it naturally.

Leucorrhoea is the whitish discharge that women experience from their genitals.  It is not a normal condition of the reproductive organs and could become chronic if not taken care of in the beginning stages.  Although this is not normal, many women experience it.  The whitish discharge is not to be confused with a normal constant flow within the female organs of secretions from the uterus and upper part of the vagina that flow down and are reabsorbed in the lower parts of the vagina.  When the discharge is white from this process, this indicates an infection in these tissues.  Leucorrhoea can last for weeks or even months at a time.

What are the symptoms of Leucorrhoea?

As mentioned above, a sure sign of Leucorrhoea is a whitish discharge from the vagina.  A person will feel weak and tired and can suffer from pain in the lumbar region, as well as the calves.  Also, there can be a “dragging sensation” in the abdomen.  Other symptoms include:  constipation, frequent headaches and very intense itching.  Those who develop chronic Leucorrhoea will experience irritability and have black patches under the eyes.

Young girls can get Leucorrhoea

Many times, young girls will develop this condition a few years before and after the beginning of their menstrual flow.  This is due to the irritation to the genital organs that are caused by dirt, intestinal worms, mental stimulation of sex or masturbation, soiled under garments, etc.  Some excess secretion is normal at puberty.  It should disappear in a short time.   Also, it could occur in women who have heavy menstrual periods, due to the thickening of the mucus membrane in the reproductive organs.  This is associated with painful menstruation.

Natural Remedies for Leucorrhoea

• Amaranth Root:  Rub the rind of the root in 25 ml of water.  Then strain and take in the morning and in the evening.  If the root is not accessible, you can use the leaves or branches.

• Lady’s Fingers:  Boil 100 gm of the fresh vegetable in a liter of water for 20 minutes.  Strain and sweeten.  Take 60 to 90 ml for irritable conditions of leucorrhoea.

• Fenugreek Seeds:  Take these internally in the form of tea or as a douche.  If you are using as a douche, the solution should be stronger than the tea.  Put two tablespoons of fenugreek seeds in a liter of cold water and simmer for half an hour.  Strain and use as a douche.

• Guava Leaves:  Infuse the leaves and use as a douche.  This is a powerful vaginal astringent.

• Mango Seed:  Apply a paste of a teaspoon of the decorticated kernel of the mango to the vagina.

• Walnut Leaves:  Walnut tree leaves have an astringent chemical.  Use the fresh leaves as a douche.

A diet for Leucorrhoea
Fast for three or four days on fruit juices to eliminate morbid matter.  After you fast with juice, next do an all fruit diet for one week with three meals a day.  After this, gradually incorporate a well balanced diet of wholegrain cereals, fresh fruits and raw and steamed vegetables.  Also, avoid all forms of:

• White flour

• White sugar

• Fried and greasy foods

• Condiments

• Preserves

• Tea

• Coffee

This condition is annoying and irritable.  Be sure to contact your doctor and try these home remedies.
