Healthy Diets: Eat 5 Meals a Day and Lose Weight

5 meals a day and lose weight? How is that possible? It is very possible to lose extra weight if you follow a balanced, diet plan.  A lot of “crash” or “fad” diets today deprive the body of food, and therefore certain nutrients are omitted and your body suffers for it.  Eating 5 meals a day is proven to have a better effect on your body that having 3 “square” meals a day.

Your dieting should be focused on portion control. Your meals should be small and nutritionally balanced.  To keep your portions, make sure that you never supersize, avoid buffets or “all you can eat” type deals, and learn about different serving sizes. A serving size is a measured unit of food, and can be “eyeballed” once the proper amount is identified. Portion size in relation to eating regularly is very important. Eat enough to satisfy you, but don’t ever gor to that “stuffed” feeling.

Why is eating 5 meals better than 3 meals?

Eating 5 small meals a day continuously feeds your metabolism, keeping it receiving nutrients on a continual basis.  Combine with regular exercise, plenty of sleep, and lots of water for optimal results.
