Farrah Fawcett Dead at 62

Farrah Fawcett died today of the anal cancer that she has been battling for years. Just hours before her death she was visited by a priest who delivered her last rites. Among those by her side when she passed away were her closest friends, Ryan O'Neil and her priest.

Many close to Farrah see her passing as a relief, because she is now free of the considerable amount of pain that she has endured in her battle against the cancer.

Farrah sought alternative and complimentary medicine throughout the world, even venturing to Germany to see a specialist.

The documentary about Farrah's struggle with anal cancer followed her from the first day she was diagnosed - she had brought the video camera to keep track of what the doctors were going to tell her, but it evolved into an emotional and at times uplifting message that reached millions.

"Her big message to people is don't give up, no matter what they say to you, keep fighting," her friend Alana Stewart said.

Farrah was 62 at the time of her death; she is survived by her husband Ryan O'Neil, son Redmond O'Neil and Father James Fawcett.
