Eat your Way to Beautiful Nails

Everyone loves to have beautiful nails; however, this is not always an easy thing to accomplish!  There is a natural way to have those long, strong and healthy nails you are always striving to have!

Women love to have beautiful nails. Sometimes that is not such an easy task.  Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you just can’t seem to grow strong and healthy nails.  The secret is in your nutrition.  Eating unhealthy causes your nails to become brittle and crack.  Also, not including certain nutrients can promote the growth of fungi.

If your nails are thin or take a very long time to grow (without biting them), then you need to supplement your diet with specific vitamins that promote nail growth and nail health.
Here are some supplements to include in your diet:

  • Vitamin A helps to promote normal nail growth and to prevent dry and brittle nails.  This can be found in yellow or orange vegetables, such as carrots, pumpkins, squash and sweet potatoes.  Also, it can be found in green and leafy vegetables, such as broccoli and spinach.  Vitamin A can also be found in liver, butter, milk and eggs.
  • Vitamin B-complex can be found in bananas, potatoes, lentils, liver and tuna.
  • Vitamin C can be found in citrus fruits, such as oranges, lemons and strawberries, as well as red bell peppers!
  • Vitamin D can be found in the sun!  Plus, you can get this vitamin in cheese, liver, salmon and eggs.
  • Vitamin E can be found in green and leafy vegetables, margarine and vegetable oil.
  • Calcium is found in milk and cheese and helps make nails stronger and prevents drying.
  • Also include zinc, iron and sulfur in your daily diet.

Eat a healthy, balanced diet and you will enjoy the look of strong, healthy nails.
