As you continue to learn about different kinds of cancers, don’t forget throat cancer! Keep reading for the lowdown on throat cancer, including some all-natural treatment options.

Do you remember the days when cancer wasn’t talked about openly? Perhaps you knew someone who developed cancer, but conversations about that person and their condition were hushed and kept behind closed doors.

Thank goodness those days are over! These days, you probably have taken a pro-active approach when it comes to cancer. You may have investigated treatment options for yourself or those around you who are afflicted by talking with friends and family members, looking on the Internet, and just keeping informed of the latest cancer news. Perhaps you even consider yourself an adept cancer “networker.”

If so, you may think you’ve accounted for all of the cancers when thinking about prevention for yourself and others: lung, breast, ovarian, prostate, skin, etc., etc.

But throat cancer? Do you really need one more to worry about?

The answer, unfortunately, is yes.

Since throat cancer is not typically considered one of the most well-known or wide-spread cancers, you may not know much about it. And if you are currently suffering from throat cancer, that knowledge is even more critical.

Here is just a bit of information to help get you started.

What is Throat Cancer?
Throat cancer, otherwise known as Laryngeal cancer, occurs when malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the larynx or voice box. Throat cancer is most often found in adults that are 50 or older and have a history of smoking and other self destructive behaviors.

Causes and Symptoms
There are many things that may cause throat cancer, but the most common risk factors (as mentioned above) include a history of tobacco use and excessive alcohol consumption.

Some of the symptoms that you may experience are:

  • Hoarseness that does not go away
  • Sore throat
  • Neck pain
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Wight loss
  • Cough
  • Coughing up blood
  • Abnormal breathing sounds.

Alternative Treatments

There are many treatments that may be alternative in nature you may want to try.  Some of these include:

  • Sutherlandia frutescens – This kind of herb is good for treating cancer and has been used for many years for that purpose with proven results.
  • Withania somnifera – This herb helps with the blood by making it circulate better and increasing the hemoglobin levels in the blood.
  • Viscum album (Mistletoe) - This helps with blood pressure and maintaining it for better overall health.
  • Conium mac – This is a homeopathic remedy that is usually prescribed to decrease swollen glands and cancerous growths.

While these natural treatment options offer an alternative route to consider, there are many other conventional treatments such as surgery, radiation and medication.

So now you know! With the above information, you’ll be much better prepared to prevent and combat throat cancer – or help someone else do the same.
