All-Natural Treatments For Pets Provide A Pain-Free Lifestyle
Lisa Bernhard has been a dog lover her entire life. Her home has been filled with canine family members over the years and all have held a special place in her heart. But one dog in particular will always be able to pull at her heartstrings because of the story of survival that she carries. Lisa fell in love with her Clementine the moment she saw her and the dog quickly became part of Lisa’s family. One day, 11-year-old Clementine, was severely attacked by other dogs leaving her clinging to life and in tremendous pain.
Although Clementine survived, she was left with painful tissue damage in her shoulder. Lisa’s first veterinarian had Clementine on a prescription drug to alleviate the pain but the medicine came with dangerous side effects, especially to Clementine’s liver. Lisa desperately wanted to help Clementine feel better with a natural solution that would not pose the same risks. After switching to a holistic vet, her new doctor turned her onto an all-natural remedy to treat the pain which has drastically changed Clementine’s life.
“Within weeks of taking FlexPet I saw a huge difference in Clem’s mobility,” says Lisa Bernhard. “She was getting up and walking without pain and soon she was even running again. I was thrilled to see her back to normal.”
Even before the debate of health care reform, millions of people were turning to all-natural supplements and remedies to treat all kinds of ailments. As a matter of fact, according to the National Center for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine, 38% of adults and 12% of children use some form of alternative therapy. And now, the movement towards an all-natural way of healthy living has made its way into our pets’ lives making for happier little furry loved ones and owners alike.
It is well documented that people today spend a lot of money on their pets. In fact, according to a pet trade association, it’s estimated that pet owners spent $45 billion on their furry friends in all of 2008 – despite the recession. A lot of this has to do with pet owners and their desire to maintain happy, healthy pets which today are often seen as an extension of one’s family.
An increasing number of holistic veterinarians are popping up all over the country to meet the needs of pet owners who are interested in providing a different kind of care for their pets. Holistic medicine involves everything from homeopathic treatments to even acupuncture for dogs and other pets. Holistic veterinarians say these treatments can successfully treat and cure many chronic and acute diseases like cancer, liver disease, pancreatitis, allergies, asthma, urinary tract problems and behavioral problems.
“I use homeopathic remedies to treat most conditions before reaching for conventional medicines,” says Dr. Jill Elliot of NY Holistic Vet practice.
Avoiding prescription pills is often the goal of many pet owners. People are realizing the possible dangers associated with traditional pet care, such as prescription pain medicine administered to pets for all kinds of painful ailments. Similar to their human counterparts, pain medications can often lead to dangerous side effects such as liver damage.
Pets in this scenario can realize great benefits from leading supplements and vitamins made with all-natural remedies. Vitamin supplements today do a wonderful job treating painful ailments. What’s more, certain vitamins contain powerful and effective all-natural ingredients that actually treat the ailment. As an example, these vitamins work much like WD-40 for the joints in a dog. When joints lose cartilage resulting in painful arthritis, these vitamins work to rebuild the cartilage – in a short amount of time – so that the dog can return to its happy and healthy lifestyle.
In Clementine’s case, luckily her veterinarian recommended an all-natural vitamin that had great results and in only a few weeks she was back to her normal, jubilant self running and chasing tennis balls pain free, just like she did before the injury. More importantly, further diagnosis revealed the tissue damage had healed and she was back to normal, playing and swimming every day…truly living a dog’s life.
