What is cholesterol? Cholesterol is a naturally occurring substance in your body. It is found in every cell and is needed for day to day functioning. It is a fat know as lipid. There are 2 typed of cholesterol; LDL (Low density lipoprotein) and HDL (high density lipoprotein). Generally, LDL is known as the “bad” cholesterol and HDL is known as the “good” cholesterol.
